Home with Endless Charm | Relax, Entertain, Enjoy!
Nestled on almost two acres of picturesque land and just a stone's throw away from the Florence Griswold Art Museum, this beautiful vacation home sleeps six and boasts tons of eclectic charm. With great marshland hiking just steps from your front door and stunning beaches just four miles away, you'll have endless opportunities for adventure and relaxation.
Enjoy the natural beauty of the area from the comfort of your own home with large floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views. Near Mill Pond you may catch a glimpse of Ospreys and Bald Eagles in the area. You'll also find bird houses and feeders outside that attract songbirds, bluebirds, goldfinches, and martins.
Inside, you'll find everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay, including central heat and air conditioning, three cozy bedrooms (including a master suite with a large walk-in closet and upgraded bathroom), three full bathrooms, and plenty of space to relax and unwind.
If you need to stay connected to work, our library/study space is ideal for remote working with great Wi-Fi and hundreds of literary classics and picture books for browsing.
Entertain your friends and family around a large antique French dining table that comfortably seats ten, or relax with friends in the cathedral-ceilinged living room. The loft features a HDTV and comfortable seating for streaming enjoyment. You can also spend time outdoors on the large stone patio and outdoor kitchen with a refrigerator, grill, and seating under cover.
Other amenities include a laundry room with a large, efficient washer/dryer, two fireplaces with dry wood provided, and a detached garage. Plus, the original barns were built using American Chestnut beams, dating them perhaps to the late 1800s.
Please note that due to the open riser loft stairs and railing, this home is not recommended for guests with small children, and pets are not permitted.
When you're ready to explore the area, there's plenty to see and do. Enjoy delicious sandwiches and home-baked goods at Coffee's Market or yummy diner fare at The Hangry Goose. For a taste of Italy, check out Sapore, which delivers delicious pizza, salads, and other Italian specialties. If you're in the mood for a classic dinner or jazzy brunch, head to the Old Lyme Inn.
Art lovers will appreciate the Florence Griswold Museum and Lyme Academy of Fine Arts, both less than a mile away, and the Roger Tory Peterson Estuary Center (Audubon). Historic Old Lyme is less than two miles away and features a library, café, ice cream shop, The Chocolate Shell, and grand churches.
There's also shopping nearby, including the Big Y grocery store, Grand Wine and Spirits, hardware store, post office, Dunkin Donuts, and Treasures antiques, all less than two miles away. For even more dining and shopping options, take a short drive to Old Saybrook.
If you're looking for outdoor activities, you'll find great hikes maintained by the Old Lyme Land Trust or around Rogers Lake. Or head to the beach or hikes in Canfield Meadow Woods, Rocky Neck State Park, or countless other locations.
Take a stroll through the neighborhood and watch for historic, gorgeous homes built in the 1700s and 1800s. With so much to see and do, you'll never want to leave this charming coastal retreat!

Alicia, 12/23/2023
“One of the nicest homes in which we’ve stayed. Beautifully decorated and stocked. Very comfortable. We had a minor issue which was addressed and resolved…. Spectacular setting…we loved it.”

“This home is absolutely lovely. It is spacious, clean, comfortable and felt very much like home. We loved being here and would definitely come back. The proximity to Old Lyme proper and to other restaurants/activities in Old Saybrook is perfect. We loved it!”

“One of the nicest airbnbs I’ve ever stayed in. The space was comfortable, well equipped, and had beautiful surroundings. This was a great place for our stay!”
Casey, 09/09/2023
“The house is in a peaceful, quiet, upscale area with plenty of privacy, yet very easy to get to from main travel routes. The home itself was terrific with a sizable back yard, patio, outdoor grill and kitchen setup, and a small screened in side porch. The living room is striking with a two story ceiling, a wall of windows to the back yard, and a wood burning fireplace. There’s also a secluded study off the main entrance. We stayed here for our son’s baseball tournament, but it would be a terrific getaway with friends as well. Perhaps a bit pricier than some other options, but well worth it. Highly recommended.”

“The place was spacious, tastefully furnished and decorated. It was lovely having a working fireplace. The kitchen was perfect for the three of us cooking at the same time. The large dining room table felt like it could welcome a nice gathering. The beds were particularly comfortable. The garden was generous and quiet. The house immediately made us feel at home. Jason was a responsive host and we particularly appreciated our stay. Hope to be able to come back in the future”

“The pictures represent exactly how the property looks, we had six people stay and the three bedrooms and bathrooms allowed each couple to enjoy privacy when needed. The common rooms in the house were all used at some point during the stay for daily or nightly activities including the grill area (gas grill started right up). The home is located down a picturesque road filled with history and only two miles from a grocery store, a couple of local restaurants and shopping. Less than 20 minutes drive away are the big box chain stores if needed. This home was perfect for our family to gather for the graduation ceremony that brought us from all over the country to witness. It allowed the family to celebrate in a personal atmosphere that a hotel or resort could not have provided. Thank you for providing the heart of our activities where memories were created that will never be forgotten.”

“Gorgeous, well decorated and relaxing house. We had a wonderful time at their house. Unforgettable memories … would be happy to go back at any time.”
Alejandra, 05/26/2023
“Our stay was terrific. The neighborhood is quiet, and although the house is situated next to a road, it nevertheless felt private and sheltered. Beautiful backyard area with lots of different birds to watch. Close to cute neighborhood shops and cafes. The house itself is stunning, offering an upscale atmosphere that still felt cozy and homey. The layout of the house allows you to spend time together in a larger group or split up into smaller groups. The house was also very clean and the kitchen was adequately equipped. There are no stairs to get into the house, and one can move freely from room to room on the first floor, which makes the house very accessible for people with mobility issues. Highly recommend it, would visit again!”

“This home was so warm and inviting. It’s beautifully and tastefully decorated. We loved all the windows which made bird watching a treat. The extra large dining room table accommodated a family get together. I’m sure we’ll come back again.”
Holly, 04/25/2023
“We loved this spacious home in a classic New England town. The beds were comfy and the layout provides privacy. The lovely library and loft provided cool areas to hide-away. Old Lyme affords hiking, kayaking, the Griswald museum and Audubon society. Easy access to shopping center with all necessities and 95. Will definitely visit again!”
